English Learner Advisory Committee
“The District establishes partnerships with parents of English Learners to provide opportunities to be active participants in assisting their children to achieve academically.”
All district school sites hold monthly English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) meetings in Spanish. They are regularly held for the purpose of formulating and responding to the recommendations made by parents. The school sites inform parents about how they can be involved in the education of their children and are active participants in assisting their children to:
- Attain English proficiency
- Achieve at high levels in core academic subjects
- Meet challenging state academic standards expected of all students
In addition, District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) meetings are held monthly in Spanish at the district level, allowing parents from all the school sites to come together to learn, discuss and inform about recommendations and news happening at each site.
Mount Toro High School ELAC meets once a month, on Wednesday morning at 8:30 AM in the English Language Learning Center
