What is PBIS?
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-base and decision-making framework that guides selection, integration, and implementation in order to improve behavior outcomes for all students. Also, PBIS is a collaborative effort between the district and school staff by focusing on 3-5 clear behavioral expectations. PBIS is a three-tiered prevention program that are designed to assist with student behavior by integrating more intensive interventions.

Mount Toro High School PBIS school wide behavioral expectations are the following:

Tier 2
Tier 2 is the second level of interventions for students in the PBIS Framework as Mount Toro High School. Tier 2 interventions are specifically designed for students with behavioral concerns. These students require specialized group systems for at-risk behavior. These students display prohibited behaviors that are observed across multiple settings or context.
Interventions are designed for students whose problem behaviors:
- Are unresponsive to Tier 1
- Require more immediate individualized interventions
- For students that display prohibited behaviors that are observed across multiple settings or context
